jihlein ran through quite a few tail tune scenarios in clean air. Native dRonin seems much worse with the .7 version than .5 and still produces really HIGH tau (77.6-90.6ish), Oscillates badly, has yaw issues, etc. Cutting default PIDs in half helped, but still not great and returned TAU of 55.4.
Ran autotune after enabling TF module and doing disarmed tailtune servo speed. It flies much better than native routines on default PIDs and during Autotune. Seemed similar to what I had experienced with the .5 version. Tau was 54.38 with only ground tailtune. Ran another tailtune after doing the in air tailtune and it was a bit more wiggly during autotune and Tau ended up 56.95. TAUs are still much higher with .7 than .5. Getting dark so will not be doing any more tests tonight. Have not tried setting DynamicYaw or Yaw boost yet. Hope to work with those tomorrow, and maybe get some FPV in at the field.
Any recommendations for starting points for the Dynamic Yaw and Yaw Boost?
