If one wants to upgrade to something with more features than a plain CC3D it's best to stick to well-proven flight-controllers. The quality of the controller is more than just the specs: I've bought quite a few things on banggood / aliexpress and although "on the brochure" they looked like the best compromise for the most part I ended up buying twice. I am not saying these new (& cheap) controllers are bad, just that they have not been fully tested, and it's a lot of effort and research to make them work, even at user level, needless to say that development is probably even worse!
To crown it all, whenever I have experienced a problem with such hardware, my comments on the vendors website were removed unless the rating I gave was 4 stars and up! When I buy on the afore mentioned shops I have now the feeling these controllers are not fully tested, and user reviews to not deliver a true and fair feedback. I even bought a cool DVR that was so buggy that they decided to remove the product entirely after a few weeks: no more product support, no manuals, nothing left! I still trust cheap chinese vendors as long as I buy some of their well-proven stuff that have been around for a year or so! For the hot novelties, it's better to buy from manufacturers that back their products.
