IN SHORT : REMOVE THE PROPS!
I see what you mean: been there once with an electric heli and will never make that mistake any-more... (or not?). Actually my little Ikarus Piccolo just jumped into the ceiling and smashed the $2500 Fontana-Arte chrystal lamp my wife had bought a few weeks before.
Lessons learned: one should not tinker these with props installed. After were you flying actually? Did you really need the props for what you were doing? My extreme solution is to store the aircraft without the props and I only screw the props when I intend to fly. That's a pain, but at least it's safe and it saves of bit of space.
As a last resort Flex OWL or blade inductrix... Just my 2 cents (and probably my next purchase)
