yes, thats what it should be.
My personal recipe for high gain is:
the old EMAX RS2306 (big bearings, smoother at high load+max efficenice in target amps+high torque),
high pitch blades with high blade count + light weight for fast reaction and high grip,
damping elements all around and
a frame thats stiff enough for the power (4mm + well aligned cfk).
The motors got silicone feet, longer titan(~20g less at the outer edge) screws that are not fully screw in.
In the version on the photo it lacks the damper for the FC: Its very(3x) petty about the props, motor screws and moon position;
With FC softmount (rubber with inserts) and the new 32bit ESCs theses problems are gone.
With the older(slower?) ESC ive often got heavy oscillation at low power.
For high "grip" i use 4x4x5 blades. Like 255er tires. Every corner is your friend and
efficenice compareable to Buttercutter.
Ive try more blades(5+6). Results in even more control but the efficenice is really bad.
And the frame,... ive try different, most x-stlye, frames and the others are not as "neutral" as the QAV-X (Armattan chameleon) or not stiff enough (3B-R BBB, I-Flight, QAV-X clone) or i can't damp it enough (QAV-ULX).
Nearly the same components only give me medicore results compared to QAV-X 4mm + RS2306:

This is stiff enough, but it feels like dronin don't like the COG above the center or so.

This behaves good. But not "so" (or "as" ?) locked in as the RS version.
Imho other motors (emax 2207, tmotor f40, F40ProII) don't change the speed so fast
results in less fast reaction, at least, it feels like that.
And the middle to max amp pull is quite low compared to T-Motor F40ProII or Emax 2207.
But yes, these setups eat batteries.
For full throttle give it young, not virgin, preheated or ambient temp over 30dC batteries, picked at fullmoon.
And it can't go full throttle for longer time, that shakes to much and sounds like the blades (4x4x5) deforms and flutter and don't give more trust, results in "Gyro Bias" message... even earlyer on 5s.
Full throttle is good with stronger blades like the Buttercutter, but less preciese.
