Hi, I've been flying FPV racing quads for years but have always wanted to build a FPV flying wing with long range capability. I have been using Betaflight for the past few years but still have a soft spot for the Open pilot GCS forks. Anyhow, I am looking for some advice on RF links for GCS.
I was originally thinking of using a revolution board and OPlink for GCS telemetry and RC. However, at 100mW the range is probably only slightly-better than my FRsky 2.4 equipment. I then read that you can connect OpenLRS to OPlink or Sparky 2. This would get me better RC range but from what I understand Open LRS only supports basic telemetry and it would not be possible to communicate with Dronin GCS.
I'm currently thinking the best system would be to get a FRsky 900mhz module and receiver. Then I could get telemetry to my Taranis while simultaneously running Oplink for GCS. This would give me long range RC and telemetry but I would loose GCS on longer flights. I think this would be an acceptable compromise.
What are other people doing? Is there a way to get telemetry back to GCS via a long range 433mhz system?
