after dropping taulabs for a sneak into PX4 (The non-ArducopterFirmware), the seppuku FC made me enter the world of dRonin. There are a lot of features in taulabs/dRonin I like more than it's counterparts on the PX4. The Motor-Mapping, the attitude settings and, with taulabs, the autotune (always worked, sometimes giving a warning, where dRonin refuses to take "bad values".)
But I was never lucky with the taulabs gps.
With the px4, same copter, same GPS (Beitian BN880), only FC changed, it flies like nailed to the sky - no setting problems at all, no fiddling. (You could even launch without gps fix with blocked gps flight modes)
Then I read, that the VtolPathFollower of taulabs / dRonin are now good enough to work well, and I give it a try. But still, all I get is violent toilet bowling. (And yes, I've set calibrated the compass, even used internal compass).
That leads to some questions:
-Is the Navigation module still under development, is it planned to have some autotune here some day?
-or is it considered as ready? (Bad luck for me, in that case)
-Taulabs had the possibility to change the gps update rates. I could not find it in dRonin anymore. Is there still a way to set it in some Ini-File? (the BN880 is said to have sometimes glitches with update rates higher than 5 per seconds).
